Offline Mode Sucks!

Most browsers share the annoying feature when you enter something in the address bar that the browsers are unable to resolve, they “correct” your typing so that localhost becomes http://www.localhost.com or some crap like that. That sucks! Or when you make a typo and the browser googles it for me that sucks too.

But the single most annoying, suck “feature”, is the one where firefox starts in “Offline Mode” per default just because you don’t use “Network Manager” WHAT THE FUCK? First of all, why would i use network manager? I manage my own network which is working fine, thank you very much! The single use I’ve thougt up so far is: make firefox start in online mode.

Secondly, why the hell would I want my browser in “Offline Mode” in the first place? That is insane! It’s like not being able to use your can opener because it is set to “No Can Do Mode” by default (you’re probably not using the can-manager program or something), or when you get on the plane, the plane will go into “Noooooo Fly Mode” so you’ll just have to roll home with that landing stuff underneath the plane, or its like making a nice cup of coffee, and the coffemaker goes into “No Coffee Mode”, because your “bean-manager” does not detect the coffebeens. Now you cannot even make tea with it (but hey, there’s a million other users for an empty coffee maker). It’s like when putting a stake in the oven, it won’t warm up, because the oven is set to “No Warm Mode” so instead of getting warm, your stake will be cold and ruined, just like your mood.

Here’s to make the firefox useful:
visit “about:config” and answer “I promise” to the supposadly funny question, then set these self explanatory swithes to “true, false, false
toolkit.networkmanager.disable
browser.fixup.alternate.enabled
keyword.enabled
